Fur Shui recently traveled to Telluride, Colorado. What a great time with wild flowers everywhere dancing under magnificent waterfalls and streams. Crisp mountain air at over 13,000 ft elevation! The book took a break on the way to Miner's Gardens, complimenting the balance found in nature with its cover "yin and yang". A nice marmot chuckled when Fur Shui was on the mountainside. Green, green, green is greeting community, and the close knit network of family found in nature. Feng Shui "form" school is seen in this photo with the two large and "grounded" auspicious "turtle rocks" to rest on. What a wonderful spot to find peace, balance and joy!

Recently became a Docent for the Irvine Ranch Conservancy in SoCal! My book Fur Shui came along with me through the environmental class and enjoyed the great out of doors picnic with all my new docent friends (Thank you Brian...our fearless leader and teacher!). Chi is everywhere, get out into nature, be silent, hear, feel, touch, and see the beauty that naturally flows in our protected sanctuaries. It's up to you and me to enjoy, preserve, and protect, these beautiful places where nature can "be", where we can learn how to flow and grow with it. Another fan of Roy's is his cat Tigger who does in real life have the curiosity of the Winnie the Pooh character for sure. Tigger is curious about the book, and has his own agenda with energy in their home. He is nestled into a fern green soft bed, green being the color of family and community. Roy has a wonderful family of fur and feathered folks to watch over, no wonder there is soft ferns and greens all about making life comfortable for family and sharing. For Roy's bird Marilyn, you have to be "on top" of the world when you look at the energies around your home. Marilyn perches up to supervise all things Fur Shui! She is the color white, which is the color of the children and creativity gua. She certainly has Roy doing creative things to show her the book. Keeping Roy on his toes and looking at the upside of things is a very good creative way of helping her person!

Fur Shui continued to enjoy many places in and around Sanibel Island, Florida! Sun, beach, shelling, dolphins, and very wonderful people to visit with. My hosts Jean B and her mom Jean A took Fur Shui visiting all over! The fishing dock at the lighthouse was a big favorite, checking to see if any large Sheephead fish were being caught, and lots of sea birds just waiting for the catch to come in! AND, a wonderful beach in Ft. Meyers, Bunche Beach which got its beginnings by Mr. Bunche before integration and equal rights became the focus. Started as a beach honoring blacks and now all enjoy its lovely long tides and wild life sanctuary. Actually the color black is all about life purpose and path in Feng Shui. This is certainly the case for all the wildlife now finding protection, sanctuary and purpose for our lives here at Bunche Beach. Many thanks to the two lovely Jeans in my life!

Fur Shui recently relaxed in and around Sanibel Island, Florida with Jean and mom Jean! Visiting wonderful reserves like Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, as well as Bunche Beach just on the other side of the causeway in Ft. Meyers. The red and orange sunsets matched the book's cover and also introduced its reputation to show up in famous (red is the color of Fame!) places where wildlife is protected, and people can relax, connect up with nature as well as their own very special internal "nature". The San Diego Zoo was visited by Fur Shui. Was a great day from Polar Bear to Flamingo sightings. The Flamingos are such a beauty all adorned in Pink. Spring time is the time for pairing up for these birds of a feather and they are naturally equipped in "pink" to do this! Pink is the color of the love and partnership life space in Feng and Fur Shui. Why not put a little bit of pink on your animal's collar or leash, bed or sleeping area and let it attract love for itself and of course YOU! Think Pink for love!

Fur Shui bloomed along with the many beautiful Camellia plants and hedges in March at the Descanso Gardens outside of Los Angeles. What a nice match for the deep red of the flowers and Fur Shui. Both red and green signify luck, fame and abundance for many in this new year of the rabbit! Red is fame, let's all celebrate the famous Descanso Gardens, a wonderful place to stroll, learn and enjoy...and there are many rabbits running about as well in the well kept gardens.

Jim and Fur Shui visit the historical site of the Alamo in Texas recently. Dressed in black and hat appropriate, Jim also had a acting part in the original film The Alamo alongside John Wayne. Coming back to celebrate his fame with the color red of Fur Shui along with his black outfit (amping up his acting career for sure) which is the color of the career gua, this is a very lucky and auspicious visit for both in quite a famous place!

Sunny day in Laguna Beach, CA! Fur Shui visited the Wyland gallery and enjoyed the back porch and sculptures. The Grey Whales are now migrating, so be on the lookout if you are along the SoCal coast. When the whales surface, they look like huge barges floating off shore! Grey is the color of the helpful people / travel gua and these whales that can reach 52 feet in length, live 50-75 years travel 10,000 to 12,000 miles during their migration from the Arctic to Mexico. Travel is their specialty!

A very Happy New Year to all! This is Caleb who had a love filled Christmas with his person Marilyn. Caleb is a wonderful help / service dog for folks who need a little bit of extra cheer! He enjoyed the angel tree this year...there are 5 angels that pop out to you in this photo. 5 is the number for helpful people / travel gua and this is so true of Caleb's talents! Happy Holidays from Fur Shui. Been on a bit of a "holiday" from travel as of late. The colors red and green are very popular for the holiday season. With Feng Shui, the color red is for fame and reputation and has the quality of increased "energy". It is a "re-charging" color for fur folks and non furry folks. Red helps us with a bit of extra energy we all need during the holidays...so, don the home with red and wear it as well during this short day, long night time. Green is for the family life space and the holidays are filled with green for sure. Trees, decorations, wreaths, garnishes, cookie sprinkles too! Put a green kerchief on your fur folk and see the family bonds get tighter. Fur Shui went to Andy and Melissa's wedding in Escondido, CA! It has been a very "Western" theme as of late for Fur Shui and its travels. This month the book went with Lucinda to a wedding where the accent was definitely the old West with the bride and groom decked out in wild wild West costumes and Lucinda came as a native American. Lots of black was evident in the old time vests, suits and dresses, very formal...black is the color of life path...let the wedding couple have a long and prosperous life together for sure! The father of the bride and bride find Fur Shui to be amusing as well as the book seemed at home with the gifting and food celebrations! All enjoyed the day and cheers to the bride and groom, may they have many happy years together with much abundance and joy!

Fur Shui's Texas road show continues on to Blanco, TX! Blanco is a small cattle town established in the 1850's in the Texas Hill Country. Jim visited the 130 year old Blanco Courthouse and a restaurant that is more than 100 years old...reports are that the food is quite "fresh" though! Fur Shui is gobbling up many miles with Jim and is becoming quite the conversation piece with all the communities it has visited. Better charge up in the travel life space upon return home to Austin...more adventures to come!

The wild wild West tour with Jim continues for Fur Shui at the Enchanted Springs Ranch, TX. Now the book visits "Boot Hill" and the "Silver Spur Saloon". Then on to more of the modern era riding atop Steve Schmidt's 1964 Caddy...watch out for those pointed long horns...wahooo! "Pointed" objects as well as the car's hot red color do find their home in the fame section, of which this Caddy is quite a local famous site while driving in and around Austin!

Fur Shui travels to Texas! In the summer at that! Jim hit the "trail" with Fur Shui to the Hill Country 5 miles west of Boerne, TX to visit the Enchanted Springs Ranch. Their adventures included a visit with some pretty little tame dears, strolls down the complete western town (lots of Western films shot there), greetings with a very patient long horn steer (this one's name is "Big Red"...and seems to enjoy taking the book for a ride), and a meet up with the very famous "Pistol Packin Paula" (no, not me...but looks like fun!). Paula's white hat is the color of creativity and she is very well know for her "trick shots"! More adventures later!

Nancy won a copy of Fur Shui during a recent "guess where" the book is news sheet event. The book was originally passed on to Nancy during the Tour by her friend Vickie. Wedding bells rang for Mary Jane's (my fun Italian travel mate) niece recently in the beautiful location of Salbris, France. Fur Shui came along with Mary Jane for the festive family occasion. The pretty bride wears white; the traditional wedding color which in Fur Shui/feng shui is the color of creativity and children. Red is the color of fame and with this comes good luck and fortune when present at weddings and celebrations. Fur Shui says good luck and prosperity comes to the wedding couple and all their family. Italy!!! Finally caught up with Fur Shui (Il Doa de Gatti....red spine next to other famous books!) in its new home in Italy. The book is doing very well and here is how it looks in "Italian". First spotted in Milan at Mondadori book store off the Duomo square. Great friend Ida who lives in Milan lead me to the book as well as gave me a great tour of Milan and good friends who love animals and nature. Bella "Fur Shui" and Ida!!! Red is the color of fame and reputation and now the book has both in Italy. Be sure to add some red to your animals collar or leash if you want to get them going strong...red energizes and animal and they love it!!

Fur Shui really put some miles on with Glenda from New Hampshire! The book went with a little side kick "witch" called Esmerelda all the way from NH to Bowling Green Kentucky to take part in the National Corvette "All things Corvette" convention. Fur Shui's "mom" drove her silver grey Corvette named "The Grey Ghost" down this year late April, Early May. Grey is indeed the color of Helpful People and Travel and Glenda sure did this in style with Fur Shui and Esmerelda. Grey and travel are great vibes. Glenda is the New England Chapter head for the Corvette club in her part of the country. Congrats on the trip which included stops for new colt and fillie ooooing and ahhing in horse country as well as a few enjoyable trips to Lincoln's log cabin, Red Rose distillery and the such. Greetings from Yakima, Washington! "Fur Shui" has been read by Lady and Salem. These fur folks certainly found their loving home and enjoy such great love chi from their person Peggy. Happy Valentine's day to all and these two certainly know how to bring in the "year of the Tiger" in Yakima!
Here is Peggy's "tale":
"Lady and Salem's story. A year and a half ago there lived this young black cat who lived in the alley. She hooked up with this other homeless cat and well a few months later she gave birth to six male kittens. She tried her hardest to keep them warm and fed though the weather was shifting and it was getting colder and more wet outside. Along came this human family who heard this young cries coming from the side of the garage. While inspecting the situtation there were five 4 week old kittens crying out from an old milk carton box. Soon they would find themselves have a warm bed and plenty of food to eat till they were old enough to be winged from their mum. They were most gracious though getting old to keep 7 cats was really hard to do though wanting to keep them all. Their human saviour had to find homes for them though being black cats around Halloween no one would take them for fear of some might wish harm to them. Later, five kittens would find nice
families to take them for who they were and one was kept. The mum cat tried other homes though they didn't work out. She grew on her new slave owner who decided to keep her. She is the most loving cat ever and loves petting all day though she knows she will always have a home. Lady is her name. Her boy, Salem is a smart cat. Tall and lean can touch the top of the counters though never goes up there. He likes to play fetch and do tricks. I love them and they follow me where ever I go. I wouldn't give them up for the world. Salem wants to read the book and in the other photo, Lady is sending her love along with the book."

A big Fur Shui "hello" from Portland, Oregon! Angie, the person for Kali and Gizmo sends their regards from the Pacific Northwest. Folks are getting right into the New Year with the color red it seems. The nice gold covered couch is perfect for more health and balance for both fur and non fur folks. Gold / yellow is the color of health and balance! Here's what Angie has to say about her adventures and pets: "Kali (left), Gizmo (right), and I have been together for 14yrs. Both of them are very well traveled, including a year of seeing the USA via semi-truck. We share an apartment with our cockatiel, Moll E. and he makes all the rules. His chewing on their tails is enough to keep them under cover when he is socializing with us. Kali and Gizmo are a little camera shy but I was able to convince them to take a quick photo in one of our favorite places to relax." Thanks Angie for getting a great photo in for the Tour!

Red and Black are the colors that appeal to Blackjack the cat on the Tour de Fur. Blackjack is from Laguna Beach and is needing a little bit of extra energy now, so red is good for a "boost" and also add a yellow bed, ribbon or blanket to his space. His health is now needing attention and yellow is the color of health and balance and can be of comfort to Blackjack now. Cindy tells about Blackjack: "This is Blackjack (15) who unfortunately has cancer and hasn't started treatment yet! We are struggling with him being sick as his big "brother" Lucky (a 90 lb. pound puppy) passed a little over a year ago after 14 years together. Thanks for letting Blackjack be a part of your journey and good luck with your endeavors." I send Cindy, Blackjack and some pink energy from the love gua to now help out with his health issues.

The Wild Wild West Tour de Fur continues with Rainy's visit to the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs So Dakota. Fur Shui and Rainy "get down" into the earth and go into the beautiful Mt. Rushmore Caves...her tour leader showed some rare stalagmites and formations to all. Read what Rainy had to say: "These pics are in the Mount Rushmore Cave. Frank our guide thought that it was great that Fur Shui was on vacation. He even went off the normal tour path so that Fur Shui could be photographed near some of the stalagmites and the longest column in any cave of So. Dakota. Rainy recently had a wonderful trip throughout some neat locations in the West, all around South Dakota and interesting spots in the wide open spaces of the West. Many thanks for taking Fur Shui along with you on your tour of fascinating places of discovery! The Tour de Fur wnet into caves under Mt. Rushmore, on archeological dig sites and into old ghost towns. I learned a lot from these travels and was amazed at the locations the book was seen...going into cave locations where tours rarely are taken...red is the color of energy and activity, and the fame qua's element is fire...and there was a lot of energy and firey exploration on this trip!!! Heads up in Maine with Camilla and her fur and feather friends! Green is the color of family and these really have it peaceful in their beautiful "kingdom" surrounded by all the green of nature. Here's what Camilla has to say about her "Fur Shui" experience:

We are located on the east side of Penobscot Bay, with beautiful water and woods. “We” includes my husband, Bob; our yellow-naped Amazon parrot Jeremiah; our two six month old German Shepherd rescue puppies (Rascal and Rogue); and our four (three previously feral, one previously abandoned) cats (Katie, Bruno, Allie, and Mishka). Fur Shui made some new friends and visited many interesing and historical sites along the way.....among them being: Big Horn Battlefield, site of Custer's Last Stand; Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower, Wyoming("take me to your leader"); Escalante Canyon Indian Petroglyph site near Delta, Co; Four Corners (intersection of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico); Monarch Pass (Continental Divide).
It was a great trip and Fur Shui is resting up for the next adventure!"

Riding in the van in and around the great state of Michigan you will find Linda, taxiing around her two children with the help of her adopted lab/brittany spaniel companion Caramel (pronounced the Midwestern way: "Car-mull"). Lots of short trips makes for a fun day for Caramel who prefers to read Fur Shui while driving...having much "travel chi", Caramel just loves the adventures. Maybe a gray or silver collar (color of the Travel and Helpful people gua) would support and boost Caramel's energy and love to drive?! What a month for one book on the Tour de Fur! The Tour continues with Lola from Encinitas, CA as she toured the East Coast from July 10 to August 2. Starting out in Florida in Ft. Lauderdale ("party on" Fur Shui!) then up to Bar Harbor, Maine, zipping down to Connecticut, moving on to Bedford, New York...and now touring the Big Apple, NYC! What a time!!! Dateline: Iguacu Falls, Argentina - June 25, 2009

"We arrive at the Argentinean side of Iguacu after going through passport control at the Brazilian border. Our guide had told us about all the 'curious coatis' which would greet us there and he was correct! Several families of large and small coatimundis came to see us - they were looking for treats (just like little dogs). I set the book first on a step and then near a fence where one very brave fellow took a look through 'Fur Shui' - he liked the pages I think. (They must have given off good vibes). We had a fun time watching him."

Hello from dwarf bunny Emmett from Carlsbad, CA! Turns out Vickie's bunny has been doing "Fur Shui" naturally...as most animals do! Here's what Vickie has to say about Emmett: "Without even realizing it, my little Emmett is surrounded by good fur chi! He has enriched our lives tremendously, and due to his positive chi, has outlived most dwarf bunnies. The average life span for a dwarf rabbit is eight years; Emmett will be 13 next month! He gets only the best, and shares much love in return! Your Tour de Fur is such a novel idea!"

Laura and her cat Jeffrey have really enjoyed Fur Shui! Here's how Jeffrey became part of Laura's life. a note from Laura:
Jeffrey is about 6 years old. I met him when I was working as a vet at one of the Los Angeles city animal shelters. He had been found limping down the side of a road, obviously hit by a car. His right rear femur was fractured beyond repair, and the leg had to be amputated. While he was recovering from his surgery, he developed a terrible upper respiratory infection. I would bring him home at night and on weekends to give him fluids, medicate him, and encourage him to eat. Needless to say, I bonded quickly with him. After a few days, he started to improve. He was eating well and walking around just fine with his 3 legs. I officially adopted Jeffrey, and he has been an amazing cat. He is a Siamese mix, so he is very vocal. He loves to carry things around the house, especially shoes. He cries loudly and "announces" that he is moving the shoe, then he expects to be petted and praised. He is such a character and always makes me smile. And he can run and play just as well as any of his 4-legged friends!

Fur Shui just returned from a South Pacific month and a half long research trip with Ken from Orange County, CA. They went to West Samoa (pic still to come!) as well as ports all over the Pacific! Here's what Ken has to say: "...I took the book to New Zealand (stealth visit), Western Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and San Diego, then passed it on to Austria so it can make the rounds in Europe." Happy July 4th! It's time for Red, White and Blue. Feng Shui and Fur Shui says that red is for Fame, blue is for Skills and Knowledge or Wisdom and white is for Children and Creativity. Karen from Chicago just sent in this cool photo of Fur Shui in front of Ray Kroc's original Mc Donalds...seems like the little red book has an appetite for history and burgers. Here is Karen's note about the site: "Well, the city I am from, Des Plaines, IL, is not famous for very much. However, we do have one fairly historical site - McDonald's - of all things! This is the site of Ray Kroc's (the founder of McDonald's Corporation) first McDonald's drive in restaurant franchise established in April, 1955. It's located in downtown Des Plaines. Hamburgers were only 15 cents! He only had one "golden arch" back then. Not shown in the picture - the original drive-in building is in the lot with fake food and mannequins at the window to "take your order"." Thanks Karen!
